Whether you’re a recruiter working hard to attract the right talent, an interviewer crafting thoughtful assessments, or a candidate showing your best work in sometimes stressful situations, every step of the process matters.

This year, our mission was clear: to solve your most pressing challenges with tools that make hiring fairer, more engaging, and more effective.

In the end, it all comes down to helping you build the best tech team to deliver the most impactful products.

Here’s how we worked alongside you to tackle those challenges head-on.

1. Empowering recruiters and interviewers

Great tools make great teams. We focused on giving you features that simplify workflows, provide deeper insights, and save you time—so you can focus on what matters most: hiring the right people.

  • Multifile projects in ten languages: Interviewers often ask, How can I create assessments that reflect real-world coding tasks? Multifile support let you test candidates on complex projects in their preferred languages, from Python to Scala.
  • Drag-and-drop functionality for multifile pads: Setting up multifile projects used to be tedious. Now you can drag and drop existing repositories into our platform, getting up and running in seconds.
  • Interview transcriptions: Taking notes during live interviews? That’s so 2023. Transcriptions gave interviewers a full text record, letting you stay focused on the conversation while still having everything you need for review later.
  • Ashby and Taleez integrations: For teams using ATS platforms like Ashby or Taleez, sending tests and tracking results became seamless. No extra logins or data transfers—just one smooth workflow.
  • Enhanced question discovery: What’s the right question for this role? Our improved search functionality took the guesswork out of assessment design, helping you easily discover the most relevant questions for your job descriptions.
  • Revised question editor: Creating custom questions became faster and easier, thanks to our redesigned editor. Now, you can craft assessments that reflect exactly what your team needs.

2. Ensuring fairness and integrity in hiring

One of the biggest concerns we hear from recruiters is, How can I ensure every candidate has a fair shot? This year, we introduced tools to promote integrity and transparency so every decision you make feels sound and unbiased.

  • Test availability windows: For university recruiting or high-volume campaigns, fairness starts with timing. This feature let recruiters define when tests could be accessed, creating a level playing field for candidates, no matter their schedules.
  • Webcam proctoring: Remote testing shouldn’t mean compromising on integrity. This feature helped recruiters ensure assessments were fair by flagging unusual activities like no face on screen or multiple individuals present. Recruiters told us it gave them confidence that everyone was playing by the same rules.
  • Refreshed reporting: We refreshed CSV exports to include new fields and made them easier to export. In addition, you’ll now find pad summaries, providing a concise overview of coding sessions to simplify evaluation and analysis.
  • SOC2 certification: Hiring relies on trust, and security is a big part of that. By earning SOC2 certification, we proved our commitment to keeping sensitive data safe and private.
  • Real-time suspicious activity alerts: To further ensure fairness, we added real-time suspicious activity alerts for interviews. These alerts help identify unusual behaviors during interviews, giving you confidence that evaluations remain transparent and fair.

3. Elevating the candidate experience

We know that a positive candidate experience is critical—not just for making great hires but for building your employer brand. Candidates want to feel valued, respected, and engaged. That’s why we delivered features that bring the best out of them during assessments.

  • New gamified assessment questions: Candidates told us they loved the challenge of solving puzzles like Tetris or Battleships in their favorite programming languages. This playful twist on traditional coding tests kept them engaged while still showing off their problem-solving skills.
  • Real-time collaborative spreadsheets: For roles where spreadsheets matter—think finance, sales, or data analysis—we made it possible for candidates to collaborate in real time during interviews. No more clunky workarounds, just seamless evaluation of real-world tasks.
  • Custom question insights: Nothing frustrates candidates more than assessments that feel too easy—or impossible. Our insights provide you with data-driven recommendations to fine-tune your questions and make your tests more effective. By analyzing key metrics like completion rates, success rates, and timeout rates, we’re helping ensure questions hit the right level of challenge.

We’re making it easy to flag candidates you suspect of cheating. When reviewing test reports, if you suspect a candidate of cheating, you can flag them. This action will apply a label to the candidate in the list, alerting your colleagues who review the list and allowing you to filter candidates based on this flag.
