Um~ I wanna ask how much extra slot availed is max? Right now I know someone have 10 Dragons already (mean 7 main and 3 extra). Can we buy the 4th extra with 80 DCs and 5th extra with 160 DC?  d???

And does Albino have any profit than normal air dragon or just out looking? (I just ask, I'm not plan to get it though) d:3

There is no restriction on how many extra dragons you can buy, the fact that the DC cost doubles every time though helps control this.

The albino holds no extra profit than a normal air element.

The doubling will slow down getting extra dragons eventually, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640.  It eventually gets to where it takes a huge number of dc for your next dragon that will take a while to accumulate, even if one has only all gold dragons.   Sort of a staggering amount of dc's if one thinks about it.

I'm noticing a remarkably small number of people complaining to bring the option back.

As for keeping the website up and healthily funded, every single time a dragon gets a view, an advertisement banner gets a page impression or a 'hit'. The very purpose and nature of adoption sites that encourage pageviews are to raise ad revenue.

Maybe someone who knows could answer my curiosity, does DrA sell their banner ad real-estate by cost-per-click or as per 1000 impressions? The difference could mean DrA could be making a lot more if they could encourage their users to click the banners from time to time. I know Neopets constantly subjects their users to 'ad theatres' as a means of raising profit for the company and to raise in-game currency for the users.

Edit: I just got to thinking, one thing that this feature does do, which I haven't found any mention of yet surprisingly, is it balances out the values of every resource. I never thought gold aura was worth any more or less than other aura to begin with, but now it's final, since 10000 gold aura is 1/10th of a dragon coin, so too are all the other auras, and the scales/fur for that matter as well. Now, we'll be hard pressed to find any resource market orders like they used to be, ones that would offer 1100 fur and wanting 1000 aura... The fur/scales that have always been in surplus since they aren't consumed as quickly for item crafting have a major use now.

As for metallic dragons, I, too, dislike most of the colors Gold gives to dragons. Silver looks better than gold, but I went with gold for the huge boost to aura...

At first I was worried if Dragonadopters simply wasn't making enough money, so they made Dragon Coins. And then the pay-for-DCs option was removed... but when the good ol' Donate button came back, no more worries.

Just to offer my opinions:  ^^

There's nothing to complain about, really.  And I doubt it'll ever reach that level of intensity, again.  People get emotional, angry, upset, and confused.  All that tends to be disruptive to a good site.  Democratic perhaps, but a constant harangue is never constructive.

I could be wrong, but I haven't seen any announcement from Admin or Staff that Dragonadopters is or was, underfunded.  Or in any kind of jeapardy because of a lack of funds.
What I do see and have seen is a lot of speculation about the need for funds as though it were a critical issue.

Honestly, these are areas best left to the owners to handle and manage.  A healthy curiosity is understandable, but it isn't necessary for us to know all the details and the rationale motivating any business owners' negotations.  That would be like our wanting to know what percentage of sales, of the income derived from the shop, for example, was used for the site and how the expense funding was divided.

On the banner ads and everything else that is income producing, I'd either ask the owners, directly, or go to the sources that could tell me how those negotiations are entered into, etc.

I don't want to sound critical, but that kind of speculation can also be disruptive.

I can confirm that DrA is having no finance issues that are going to mean its imminent closure.

As for "encouraging" members to click, that's not going happen, members a free to visit the banners if they wish, but that is it, there is no need to make it any different.

First I want to say thanks for changing how Dragon Coins can be obtained. I think it makes it fair for the mass of us that cannot buy them. Second I am liking the changes with the coins- How it doubles so people CAN cap out on how many dragons they can have.

Finally thanks again for listening to the input and not pulling out what a few of us assumed the worst.  d:3

I have to say how incredibly excited I got when I saw this<3 No, I didn't mind the payment version at all, and found the flamers obnoxious; sorry to hear about the personal/internal reasons, as I was fully on-board with a secondary means of funding which actually gave members something too as opposed to just donating.

HOWEVER~<3

:3 NOT ONLY does this make things "more fair", by making things difficult but perfectly obtainable over time, rewarding active and long-time members most while keeping it out of newbie hands but giving them a goal and reason to stay active; it ALSO gives those long-time members something to work for! :D I was actually thinking just about a week ago, "What does someone do if they get seven Lv110s, even just seven Ancients, really, and don't want to release? I guess they just stop playing, maybe donate resources to friends or something.." Not anymore~<3

^-^ I've been a lot more active than usual recently, but all I've been doing is trying to keep my dear Dark Dragon among the top, so I can at least be ONE OF the "first" to see the new stages. :3 Otherwise, most my dragons are in underleveled gear and just kind of sitting around. NOW, I have MOTIVATION to get even more active, gear them out (so they'll produce more resources so I can buy more coins), etc~<3 :3 So while it's still going to get to a certain point where instead of seven you have, say, eleven Lv110s and nothing really to do, it's gonna take a LOT longer. :3

In short, while I did like coins for money despite not being able to buy, and sort of wish both options were still available in fact, I believe if it had to be just one method, this one shall prove far more beneficial to DragonAdopters and its community overall~<3 Epic work guys.
