Kava's Dragon Zoo - Updated 1/27 (Partial)
« on: December 22, 2008, 11:42:51 PM »
Updated every few days or when I get a chance with new dragons and/or updated descriptions! - Last updated 1/27 @ 3:56pm PST. (Partial update for now... hopefully to be finished later today or tomorrow.)

 d=) Well I love dragons... which is how I ended up here... and on Dragon Cave, and on Valenth... (And Aryvre... Christmas Wyrm! >>;; ) d<:/

So, I thought I'd take advantage of the ability to post up everything together in one place!
(My son's dragon is also included here, with his permission, since I don't allow him to post on the forums.)
You'll find some extra adoptables at the bottom, that I haven't yet fit into the zoo. >>;;

I had a lot of fun writing this, so I hope you enjoy reading it.

~~~*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*~~~~
As you enter the zoo, you notice that there are a variety of environments present in this vast park, which extends as far back as your eyes can see. Close at hand just inside the gate and to the right is a small building with a sign labeled: "Dragon Tender's Home". The door is slightly ajar.
Xanth, a western water dragon, stands guard outside the door, watching over a young eastern fire dragon who appears to be sleeping. An Eastern Earth dragon is nearby as well, gazing at the cliffs you can see in the distance. Do you dare to tiptoe past them and glance inside the house?
Should you glance inside, you would see several bookshelves, with many books.. and a lot of pocky. A small fire is burning tidily in one corner of the room. A bed sits under a window with curtains pulled back to let the sunlight pour into the room. It looks rather comfortable, piled high with pillows and cushions. In front of the bed, a dog, or perhaps a wolf, has been peering at you and now begins to stand. Another dog with slightly wolfish features sits next to the fireside; nearby, a comfortable looking chair sits vacant. Two wooden chairs placed near a table which holds a scattering of books and papers are similarly empty. This room seems well guarded by the canines; perhaps it's time to view the rest of the zoo...
To the left is a fenced in enclosure with a small grassy field, various eating troughs, and several different kinds of shelters. The fence contains gaps at each of the four corners, with no gates. A creature which may be an Imp, or perhaps a Dragon changeling, smiles cheerfully at you with mischief twinkling in her eyes. What seems to be an otter sleeps next to the pond in the center of the field, and a feline with slightly draconic features sits nearby looking bored. You hear a high-pitched peep and notice that there is also a ...chick?! If you look closely, you might see another pair of mischievous eyes peering at you from the inside of a shelter perched several feet off the ground.
Past these smaller areas, just before the path bends to the right, is a large lake, surrounded by sparse trees and various other flora. Every now and then, for just a moment, you might catch a glimpse of the Water Dragons sporting underneath the waterfall cascading down the cliff at the far end of the lake, or a strange dragonfly-like creature flitting across the surface. If you peer closely... the local Drixie might flutter up to you and greet you, "I'm Flit! Look here... but don't touch!" She'll show you where to find some odd eggs nestled in a mossy nest and hidden behind an overhanging willow tree.
Flit looks small and unassuming at first glance, but you might notice a mischievous look in her eye, and a bit of smoke curling from her nostrils that will remind you of where you are.... Dragon Pixies are notorious for pranks ... of the nasty variety. Perhaps it would be best to simply look and not touch as she says. A small oddly colored rabbit nibbles on leaves surrounding the nest.
As you turn to go... you might swear you see a small blue and yellow tentacle pop out of the water for a moment, seeming to point to the sky. Looking up, you can see a Skywing dragon circling in the air above the lake. Perhaps it calls home one of the caves littering the cliff to either side of the waterfall.
If you follow the path to the right, it opens into a large field. There are a few 'mounds' which might be shelters, and a small stream fed by the lake runs along the base of the cliff to the left of the field. There are patches various 'shrubbery', some of which contain berries, and many other types of short vegetation growing in the field. A watchful White Dragon sits peacefully near the entrance to the field, looking over the rest of the field's inhabitants. Another dragon, closer to the cliffside, sits in front of a small nest sometimes containing eggs or hatchlings. Of course, there are many other dragons to be seen here, in wide variety. Most eye-catching are the crystalline dragons, whose hides seem to reflect rainbows.
The path takes you along the outer edge of the field, with a dense forest to your right. It looks as though someone started to make a path into the forest at one point, but gave up after a few feet. About five feet into the path, it is blocked by a large tangle of vines that look rather nasty. Oh wait... are there dragons amidst the vines? And there seems to be a strange spotted wyrm slithering around them as well.
As you peer more closely through the vines, trying to discern where the plants end and the dragons begin, if in fact they are not part of one another, you catch glimpses in the woods beyond of more creatures whose nature is not clearly defined between plant and animal.
After winding around the field, the path continues forward through a section of sparse trees with high canopies, and splits, just as you've come to where you've nearly lost sight of the field behind you. There is a small clearing in between the two paths, where a Guardian Dragon rests beneath the trees, eyes following you as you choose a path to take.
The right path continues mostly forward, gently winding its way into a deeper part of the forest. The slight leftward movement of the path is so gradual and the canopy of trees so thick, that you are surprised when you finally see yourself approaching the side of the cliff. A few steps cut into the stone lead to a small platform, above which hangs a sturdy-looking rope ladder. This part of the zoo seems empty right now. If you stand for a moment and look though, you might notice a gap between the vegetation and the cliff wall to the right. Following it takes you to a small alcove in the rock. Inside the alcove is a nest which appears to be abandoned. When you turn to leave, most likely the Rokur will have emerged and be peering at you curiously from the branch of a nearby tree.
Climbing up the ladder, you eventually reach a plateau in the cliff face. Turning to the left, you can just barely see the waterfall you passed earlier, and the Skywing dragon circling in the air nearby to it. To the right, there is a rocky plateau with several caves in the cliffside, sparse shrubbery, and a few stubborn trees and flowers. Nothing moves.
You might stand for a moment, staring at the cave entrances and catching your breath. Suddenly, a large blue head pokes out of one of the caves, followed rapidly by a second head... all attached to a single body, and the Two-Headed Dragon begins rapidly walking your direction. Before you have a chance to be more than momentarily alarmed, it speaks: "You there! Solve this argument!"
By the time you have finished listening to Lallia and Lorrie's current issues and resolved them to the best of your ability, you have completely restored your stamina. Additionally, you may have noticed that there seems to be a light other than daylight coming from one of the caves. A quick peek reveals two Silver Dragons sleeping inside, lighting up the cave with a glow all their own.
Retracing your steps to where you arrived on the plateau, you now notice that taking several steps forward from where you came up is another rope ladder hanging down from above. Up up, and up a bit more... you may be getting tired by the time you finally reach the top of the cliff. A sight greets your eyes. Several Autumn Dragons, Storm Dragons, and Flarions make their home here at the top of the cliff, and you can see  them cavorting about. There doesn't seem to be any path leading away from the small area at the top though, so perhaps it is time to go back, and take the left path...
Back at the fork, the left path curves sharply towards the cliffside. Before long, the path widens as it comes to a large cave entrance in the side of the cliff. Inside the gloom of the cave, many paths lead in different directions. Should you follow them, you'll encounter a variety of dragons and other creatures...
The path farthest to the left proceeds only a short distance before you find yourself standing in front of a door. A faint golden light leaks from under the edge of worn wooden door, closed with a simple latch. Upon entering, you see what appears to be an experimental laboratory of some sort. A fire burns in one corner, creating the light that you perceived from outside. A small cauldron bubbles above the fire, and jars of unknown substances line the shelves of the room. Various other unidentifiable apparatus are scattered on the shelves and tables. If you examine the jars closely, you might notice slight movement in some of them.
Well, you've enjoyed the zoo, but it's getting a bit late now... perhaps you ought to make your way back to the entrance, and home from there.
[END ZOO]
TO BE ADDED
I'm just putting them here until I have a chance to write them into the zoo....
 d<:/ I managed to overfill the first post..... so these are here.
Agent HQ Adoptables
These are eggs, like many of the others, but their scale is so large that they'd look quite odd if I mixed them in with the others.
>>;; I originally put my Chicken Smoothie adoptables in the zoo... but they're just so large that they really don't fit in very well with the rest of the animals, so... I'm adding them here at the end instead. ^^;
[MOD note:  That's fine,  because that is the rule. d:3]
